Get Back on the Road — the Right Way
If you’ve failed or refused a DOT drug or alcohol test, returning to safety-sensitive work isn’t as simple as passing another test. The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires a professional Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluation—and that’s where we come in.
What We Do
At Step Stone Counseling, our certified SAP provides evaluations and follow-up care for employees in DOT-covered roles. We follow federal guidelines and act as a neutral third party—not your employer or your treatment provider.
How It Works
Professional Evaluation
We meet with you to assess your situation and determine what kind of education or treatment you may need.
Personalized Plan
Based on your evaluation, we create a plan tailored to your needs, whether it involves classes, treatment, or both.
Follow-Up Evaluation
Once your plan is complete, we’ll do a second evaluation to determine compliance and readiness to return to duty.
Clearance & Testing Plan
If compliant, we provide documentation for a return-to-duty drug test and outline a follow-up testing schedule.
